A twisted ladder

packed inside my cells, so small—

all that I might be

We’re back for the next haiku puzzle in the A to Z Blogging Challenge! Once again, identify the word that begins with the letter D that the haiku refers to . In this case, it’s not so much an actual word as an abbreviation, or maybe two separate words if you spell it out. Not that many people could spell it out correctly – bonus points if you can!

Here’s a hint, if you need it: you will want to put on your biology hat for this puzzle. Maybe even your molecular biology hat!
