This one will be harder for my younger readers! I’m afraid knowing the term “boob tube” is a sign of my advanced age, but I hope I’m wrong. Come on, let me know you know it, too!

So wait a minute … it’s not the boob tube anymore? Who knew? Now you have me wondering about the etymology of that word. Guess I gotta go look it up!

In my mind, it’s still the boob tube, but I’ve never heard anyone in my kids’ generation call it that. The word “boob” no longer leads to the immediate concept of “idiot” as it used to!

Wow, we’re all a bunch of oldies here, aren’t we! I got it right too. Of course, you have to say it with a good American (preferably NY or NJ) accent. Brits are prone to pronounce it “boob tchewb” which doesn’t have the same punch as “boob toob.” 😉

I grew up in New Jersey, so I can completely agree – it’s the only way to say “booob tooob”!
