There are few X words,
but thanks to Marie Curie
we all know this one
No, it’s not an X-rated haiku — sorry! It’s a little verse that suggests a word beginning with X. Can you figure it out? Let us know in the comments!

We do? I don’t know. I’m coming back after coffee. Stumped. So very stumped.

I’m sure coffee will help. Here’s another hint: Think of hospital dramas on TV. What’s that hanging on the wall, lit from behind, with doctors peering at it and pointing?

At first I was thinking it had to be a bigger word but then realized, no, it’s just X-ray.

So, I guessed x-ray, but looked up Marie Curie to learn a little more and WOW! What a lady that I know so little about. And talk about a tough family to impress. Five Nobel prize winners. How’d you like to come home for dinner in that family.
“Oh, I won a Nobel today, this time in the field of physics.”
“Would you be a dear and pick mine up when you swing by for yours? I got tied up in the lab with a new discovery in radioactivity and completely forgot to grab mine. I wonder if you might pass the mashed potatoes this way, thanks.”

Hahaha – yes, it was probably JUST like that! She was indeed an amazing scientist.

I was stumped for a minute trying to think what Marie Curie used that started with X. But I was trying to be too clever! Of course it’s an X-ray. One of my first published pieces of writing was about Marie Curie. I would have been about 7… Can you tell my mother was a science teacher?

Marie Curie was an amazing person! I’m not surprised you wrote a paper about her, but to have a publication credit at 7 makes you pretty amazing, too.
