A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY. This was the grand home of the man who founded the Eastman Kodak company and contributed in many other ways to the public life of this city. His estate now houses one of the world’s greatest archives of equipment and images relating to both still and motion pictures, in addition to the splendid mansion and gardens.While there, I snapped this image of the flourish at the bottom of one of the stairs, with its elegant curve and crystal finial. If you ever visit Rochester, a trip to this museum would be worth your time
