Today we feature the letter E in the A to Z Blogging Challenge, and another haiku puzzle. What is the science fiction/fantasy word implied by today’s haiku that starts with E? I’ve always found it odd that we use the same word to refer to such very different creatures: the tall and mysterious lords of Rivendell and Lothlorien, the chubby cartoon characters cranking out cookies in commercials, and the people in red-and-green felt wrangling lines of kids in December malls. Now that I think about it, if it weren’t for the LotR films, I have a feeling that Americans in general would only think of elves as small humanoids…

All right, I’m back on track! I can’t tell I don’t read fantasy. Had no idea on line 1, but the next two lines rescued me. Gotta confess, my first thought on the first line was Dragon. Doh!
