I Haiku #atozchallenge

Genius, billionaire,
playboy and philanthropist
in a metal suit

Today’s A to Z blogging challenge: What word or phrase does this haiku suggest that comes from science fiction or fantasy and starts with the letter I? It’s kind of unfortunate that the alphabet is the way it is, since this one might be easier than it should be since it follows right after yesterday’s H haiku puzzle, but it still can be a bit of a challenge. Unless you saw that move by Joss Whedon, in which case you may recognize the quote.  Know who I’m talking about? Tell us in the comments!

    • Interesting – was it not in bright blue at the top of the post, right under the Letter I image? I guess I need to keep track of how the post looks in different formats, and make sure the haiku is obvious. Thanks for letting me know, and I appreciate your persistence!

  1. Grrrr … I had to sneak down to the comments. Even then, I didn’t pop myself in the head. I guess I don’t know much about Iron Man as it turns out. Genius? Never knew. All that other stuff? Uh-uh. Metal suit? Okay, that part I get … NOW!

  2. I started the first version of my reply with a joke about another billionaire, who may be a bit of a playboy and may even be some sort of weird genius, but who isn’t known for a metal suit, and who certainly isn’t a philanthropist.

Then I thought better of it and decided to just go with Iron Man.

    (Nice one, by the way!)

  3. …but the haiku doesn’t include spoiled brat, which is certainly how I felt about the Iron Man movies. I’m supposed to excuse him being spoiled because he’s hiding an injured heart and he really cares…we all have our faults, h is for human….
