We’ve driven past this sign many times, and finally last fall I stopped to take a picture. There’s nothing in particular at this spot on the road aside from this intriguing old sign. I’ve often wondered what it means, or used to mean, back when it was new. I’m sure there’s a story there. I wish I knew that story!

The story is somewhere 🙂

The sign was probably put there by Someone. You know, Nobody’s friend.

Everyone must be glad to find this sign. After all, Everyone has to be Somewhere. 😉

You could invent the story of that sign, make it a fiction story, perhaps a flash fiction. I’m certainly tempted. The sign is a wonderful writing prompt.

Celia. I shared the photo with my friends from the WEP site (http://writeeditpublishnow.blogspot.ca/), and they love it too. We have been invited as a group to write a guest post in the A_Z challenge for the letter G. We chose Genre, and I thought it would be interesting to write several mini stories in different genres for one prompt. Could we use your photo as our prompt? Of course, we’ll give you credit and the link to this post.

I took a picture of this sign while on a motorcycle trip, but I can’t recall where it was located. Can you tell me the location?

Wow – it’s been a while since there’s been any activity on this blog. Great to hear from you!
It’s also been quite a while since I took that picture. The best I can remember, it was on either Route 6 or Route 3, somewhere in the vicinity of Volney, NY. I really can’t pinpoint it any closer than that. Sorry.

Thanks! You’re probably right. I was on an epic motorcycle trip up the up the East Coast when I pulled off to snap a picture of it. I’ll have to dig through my travel journal and see if I can pinpoint it. I wonder if it’s still there.
