hot, it wipes away wrinkles
cold, it wards demons
Welcome back to the A to Z Haiku Puzzle after our one-day Sunday break. Today’s haiku refers to an actual metal, and remember that the letter of the day for today is I. I hope you are inclined to use your imagination, and that you have an inkling of an idea about today’s interesting puzzle!
Iron, nicely done. I had to think about that for a moment. 🙂

I confess to pretty much NEVER ironing. No apologies, though!

Iron! Although, I was expecting a line about fairies and not demons.

Good point, Patricia. I probably should have worded it that way.Oh, well, at least you got it anyway!

Okay, so Iron. I get it from the second line. But the third line confuses me. If “ward” means to protect or guard, I don’t get how iron guards demons … as opposed to guarding anything else. But I don’t read fantasy so maybe I’m missing the reference.
Nevertheless, I love coming to play with these, Celia. Like anything else, I’m starting to understand haiku now and I love the puzzle aspect intertwined. Thanks for entertaining!

Thanks, John. It would have been better to say “wards away demons,” but I needed to cut those syllables so I took a shortcut. And, as Patricia said, it would have been better to refer to fairies, not demons. Still, you got it, so yay!

Well, I’m so ignorant on the subject, I wouldn’t have understood fairies any better. But oh, do I ever understand having to cut syllables. And words. And paragraphs. And two chapters like I just did in my WIP. The pain!

Ouch! That must have hurt.
